After negotiations with Kent International Airport and TG Aviation it was agreed to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Air Training Corps by flying 70 cadets at Manston s International Airport. </p> <p class="style2"> 618 Volunteer Gliding Squadron flew from their home @ RAF Odiham to take on the task of flying the cadets during the weekend of 11th/12th June. The Manston airfield being no stranger to the Squadron, as they were originally formed there in 1962, before being located at RAF West Malling, Challock and currently RAF Odiham. Cadets travelled from Squadrons all around the county to take part in the 2 day celebration of gliding. The 70th cadet to fly on the 70th anniversary was Cadet Gardiner of 2433 (Ramsgate) Squadron, who had the privilege of being flown by Flight Lieutenant Phil Wickwar RAF VR(T), who flew at Manston as a cadet himself. </p> <p class="style2"> Wing Commander Garrod-Bell said  We are most grateful to Manston International and TG Aviation for making it possible to bring military flying to our cadets in Kent.
