Basic Camp hits the right Spot

 

 

 

 

 

Cadets from 438 (Thanet), 2235 (Deal), 500 (Headcorn) & 1063 (Herne Bay) Squadrons of the Air Training Corps, under the command of Flt Lt K Doyle RAFVR(T) and AWO J Kealy, packed their kit bags and headed off for a Joint Squadron Basic Camp Weekend at Dibgate Camp in Folkestone.

The Cadets had a taste of service life and enjoyed activities including Outdoor Cooking, Shooting, a Confidence course, Drill, Swimming, Sport and Camping. Cadets also undertook a Navigation walk under the guidance of Flt Lt O Shone RAFVR(T), utilising the classroom theory and putting their knowledge into practical use. For many of the cadets it was their first time at camp, and some found it a little daunting, but through the course of the weekends camp. Their confidence, skills, and morale greatly improved. All the squadrons really worked, learned and played well together.
